Chapter 1

Read Chapter 1: Chemical Foundations. Review measuring techniques, factor-label method for conversions, significant figures.

Chapter 1 Homework: Active Learning Questions 1, 3, 4, 5. Questions 17, 20, 21, 23. Excercises: 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 45, 47, 51, 53, 59, 65.

Chapter 2

Read Chapter 2: Atoms molecules and Ions. Review atoms, ions, periodic table, valences, formulas and naming (nomenclature). Memorize ions on the AP Ions List.

Chapter 2 Homework: Active Learning Questions 5, 11,12,13. Questions 17, 21, 23 . Excercises: 25, 44, 49, 53, 55,  59, 61, 63, 65, 69.

Chapter 3

Read Chapter 3: Stoichiometry Weighing by counting, the mole, Avogadro's number, percent composition, empirical formulas, balancing equations, limiting reagent.

Chapter 3 Homework: Active Learning Questions 3,4,8. Questions 19, Excercises: 27, 33, 35, 39, 53, 59, 61, 65, 71, 81, 83, 89.
